Founder - The Late Mohammed Rashid Bhatti saheb RA |
||
Founded by the late Mohammed Rashid Bhatti sahib (RA) the organisation has sought to establish partnerships and alliances in order to carry out its work in the community. He worked tirelessly for the initial migrant communities that settled in the UK from the Indian sub-continent and went onto to become a community advocate for migrating families, their children’s education and employment for the emerging inner city communities. A businessman, he gave all his free time to the establishment of mosques and evening schools so that Muslim children could grow up with the values established by Islam. Having sought to establishing an infrastructure for the Muslim Community he was aware that this was not sufficient. He worked towards community cohesion and being part of the wider community through multi faith activities. The late Mohammed Rashid Bhatti sahib (RA) passed away peacefully on 28 March 2010. On 22 May 2010 the first Annual Memorial was held at the Ghamkol Shareef Mosque in Birmingham. A formal decision was taken to establish and enhance the MRB Foundation as a charitable trust and to continue the fine work and example that had been established. |
